Was just wondering how moving to another host like VodaHost affects your links pages? If links are current found on page like:
http://www.cust-m-cartoons.com/site/663761/page/####, do you have to notify each individual that you exchange with that you are changing the location of their link?
I'm still playing with Blue Voda and am trying to make sure I get the right shopping cart. I've finally gotten a decent page ranking on Google, so want to make sure that moving is the right thing to do. Money-wise it's a no brainer!

I did send out an email to my links partners on one site saying that the links had moved. On the 2nd site, I was lazy and didn't - and every time I get an email that says they can't find my link, I reply apologetically with the change. I just had too many other things going on when I moved it, that I didn't get the email out timely - then didn't want to do it after some had already discovered.
I had good ranking on Pinata Palace when I moved it. The only areas that hurt - are the traffic that was being sent to internal pages. But my home page lost nothing - and my sales increased by a large percentage - the very month I moved. There's no guarantee of that happening for you, of course, but the se's like the changes and so do my customers.

when I moved cookforyourhealth I created an htaccess file with all my 301 redirects. This way if somebody happens to find a link either in ppc or on some other site, they will be redirected to the new page.
I did this for every product and every page. I did the link with the license# and the one without the license# in it for all products and pages. fortunately I didn't have a lot of products or pages, so this wasn't too difficult.
As far as the link partners, I originally set up my own pages for this and just copied the directory over without any problems.

Since my Link Pages are already at: www.mystore.com/Links , I will have no problem at all with them when I move - All my other pages can't wait to move, as they are sick of the SOL ##### - how SOL still seems to get away with their NON service - is beyond my understanding - even watching "Criminal Minds" weekly doesn't help much :!:
