7) Just choose a color from the color square located at the right. Don't worry about not getting the right color at this moment. Just click on a color over on that square so you can get the "just" of what is going on. All you have to do to get a color is move your mouse over that color square and click somewhere - then you move your mouse over to the grid and click on a square. The color you picked will show up in one of those squares.
8. You can click on as many squares as you like and the color will be placed in each square you choose. Go back over to the color square located at the right - see the sliding color bar to the right of the color square - you can choose a range of colors from that color bar - this range of colors will now show up in the color square for you to choose from.
9) Play around with all this until you come up with a picture you like.
10) When you like your favicon - click on "download favicon". It is located below the box you are creating the favicon in.
11) Then in the box that pops up - click on SAVE- Notice where you are saving it so that you will be able to find it when you look for it on your computer. Write down where the file is being saved to if you have to.
12) You are now done CREATING your favicon. Go ahead and open up the file you just saved your favicon to so that you can view it. It will be small. This is okay.
13) Now to put it on your site.
14) Open your builder 5.0
15) go to top Blue Tab "ACCOUNT"
16) Side gray tab "FILES"
17) Click on the BROWSE button near the bottom left
1 Double click on your favicon file you just saved to your computer.
19) click UPLOAD (bottom right)
20) You should now see that the favicon file has been saved in your files list - probably will be number 1 since you just uploaded it. Look at the number one file - if it is not your favicon you just uploaded then go to the bottom of this page a try again, sometimes it takes a second try to get it to upload
21) When you see your file there - great! You will see the name of it is 'favicon.ico
22) Next go to the top blue tab PAGES
23) Double click on your home page
24) go to side tab ADVANCED
25) In the block called HEAD type in the code below except (replace "YourStoreNumber" with your actual store number) Here is the code:
<link rel="shortcut icon" href="/files/YourStoreNumber/uploaded/favicon.ico">
26)Then click on done and then publish your site.
This should get you a favicon showing up when someone saves your site to their favorites list. I know it is a lot to do but it is relatively easy. Just a lot of steps to do it this way.
