Some time last year I was trying to improve my closing ratio so visited every site on the SOL Testimonials link.
I noticed that many of them used SecurityMetrics and VeriSign symbols that linked back to SOL. Since our shopping cart actually goes to SOL and that is where you really have to worry about the security of your personal information I thought this would provide the customer with a more secure feeling and I put the symbols on my site.
Today I got 2 emails from SecurityMetrics as follows:

In order for you to carry our logo on your site you must purchase a site
certification from us. At this moment in time you have our logo
pointing to www.storesonline.com.
Please remove the logo from your site till you officially scan with our
company.

I apologize, after more searching I finally found the IP for your site.
Please accept my deepest apology.

I think this confirms that we can use their symbols as an SOL merchant without paying a seperate fee to give our sites more credibility.

Dear Brad:
In trying to copy the logo so I can use it on my site www.audreysmotherofthebride.com, the logo appeared unclickable and non directable to the SOL security certificate. How do I copy this, so it is functionable? I have already stated that my store is "hosted by StoresOnLine" on the footer of the home page of my site. Many thanks for your advice!

You'll have to right click the image, save picture as, and upload to your site first. Then use this code:
<CENTER>
</center>

Dear Shoshanna:
Thanks for being such a big help and being so prompt with the reply. How about the Verisign logo? I could not right click and save this one. Any ideas and can you provide the HTML code for this and for all the other SOL owners who are reading this thread now?

<a href="https://seal.verisign.com/splash?form_file=fdf/splash.fdf&dn=WWW.STORESONLINE.COM&lang=en" target="_blank">
<font color="#FFFFFF">
</font></a>
You can go to either of my sites and download the image from the footer then reupload it to your site. Please change the site # from mine to yours.

Hello Shoshanna:
They are both done and look great! Thank you again! The Verisign logo can be "saved as picture" from your site. I hope everyone follow suit and make some more SALES!! Thank you again.

You are certainly welcome. I would like to know how to get the Verisign to do the little flash # like it does on SOL and on Diana's site. I've tried just putting in the code from the site but it doesn't work.
Don't forget to put "Powered by Stores Online" or something to that affect in your footer.
Oh well, at least it's clickable and legal! :D

Most definitely make it legal by stating either Powered by StoresOnline or Hosted by StoresOnline in your footer.
Here is the code I used, (in a text element box), to make it "flash":
<SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript">
function popUp(url) {sealWin=window.open(url,"win",'toolbar=0,location=0,directories=0,status=1,menu bar=1,scrollbars=1,resizable=1,width=640,height=55 0');
self.name = "mainWin";}
</SCRIPT>
<script src=https://seal.verisign.com/getseal?host_name=www.storesonline.com&size=L&use_flash=YES&use_transparent=YES&lang=en></script>
There are times it will disappear for a moment or two dependent on VeriSign and StoresOnline, don' t worry, it comes right back. 8)

Hi Diana,
So what REALLY makes the Verisign flashy logo dissappearing often? On the Storesonline website, it usually never does. Hmm strange becoz we put this logo on our site but people can't see it!?
Any thoughts? Or should we just accept it?

Actually the Verisign Logo does disappear from the StoresOnline page and when it does so does ours.
It is something with the flash and linking with Verisign.
Verisign has not come up with a fix except to say that if it is a bother, then use the fixed image and link.
I personally like the flash one and it doesn' t bother me that it disappears periodically, I still have the SecureMetrics logo for backup.
I apologize that I don' t have a better answer. I have used the flash one for about a year now and it has not deterred my customers from purchasing when it disappears for a moment or two.

I want to thank all of you. I had been wondering if we could use those security signs and how to go about it. I appreciate the help.
