Hi All,

When one goes to change from let's say......... L4T to something else, what is the timeline? I have a week before my free year is up. When do I notify L4T? When do I notify my current link partners? Do I manually email all of them, or should I use a template email?

Sorry for all these questions, but I don't want to pay another cent to L4T!

I've never used L4T but I would recommend you backup all your current link trades somehow as a hard copy printout or in some usable excel spreadsheet.

I now use Zeus, so I simply re-entered the sites manually into the program that I wished to keep exchanging with, and sent them a "your link has moved" email template. This detailed their title and description, the theme they are in, the direct page to look on for their link, and a link to find out how I wanted to be listed. I told them in order to provide a better resource for our visitors we have been re-categorizing the link pages, so if you had previously stored where your link was displayed please take note that it has moved.

Had only 2 or 3 bots write back that they couldn't find a link during a recent audit, so I just pointed them to the new pages and they are happy.

I would get on L4T about cancellation first thing Monday...so you have ample time to move your current links!

If you don't notify L4T IN WRITING before your time is up, they will automatically renew it and charge you for another year. This is what happened to me and then I got blacklisted for cancelling before the second year was up.

I would also demand a verification that they received you email or letter.

Thanks, Shoshana, that's what I need to know! Will start working on that letter right now!

Do I need to give them a reason for wanting out?

Hi Sania,
no you don't have to give them any explanation why you cancel it.
It's not like a "filing for divorce" or so :)

Speaking from experience? I hope not! :P

here is one - answer to your 2 questions:

Yes, I divorced myself from Links4 Trade, which they might not even know yet, they still owe me some months - kindly do NOT ask how many (months, I mean) - else I might have to answer some more questions
