I would like a feature added that if you're working on changing multiple pages and happen to finish one before the others and would like to publish it, that you could select WHICH pages you wanted to publish at that time.

Most of the time I can wait until everything's done, but on occasion I really, really want to get a certain page up before everything else is finished and I can't find a way to do it.

I know a lot of you edit in a stand alone editor and then copy it to the store builder, but for me it's less-confusing to do it right there. If you're listening Santa, I hope it's not too late.

I think you can do this already Mark, without Santa's help.
When you are ready to publish one particular page - go to that page, on the top right, click on "General" and on the left it says: "Display in Browse Menue" - that's where you can decide if it should show or not.
If you have single items ready to be published, you could chose those from the "product list" and add those items - the items which are not ready to be shown, you could uncheck from this list.
I hope it helps and I understood you correct :-)

Right, the changes would be published, but you can have entire pages not show.

However, if they are pages that you already have and are making changes, when you publish, all changes get made.

But when you start building a page, on the same page you decide whether to show it in the browse menu, doesn't the default heirarchy make it a top level page? If you leave it like that, it shows up in your nav menu. If you make it a sub page, it shows up there. Maybe that should be a separate wish; an option of listing it as pre-published so there's no link to it yet, even if it is live.

You can take any page out of top level - and not be seen- I have several of them on my stores. If someone knew the actual page name of that page, yes they could find it - but that would be very unlikely.

I do this with my seasonal pages. I have a special page on my chocolate site for the major chocolate holidas. Valentines, Easter, Mothers Day and Christmas. This way all I have to do is turn the page on again.

I keep it in my site map though so the search engines index the page. This way the next time the holiday nears I am already listed in the search engines.

Be careful of doing this, I have discovered that if you have any links to that page on other pages i.e. sitemap it is possible to show up on SE pages if the customer is looking for that product etc so be careful not to put links to it until you desire it to be available.

Most of the products on the seasonal pages are still available all year. Its just that I add some additional text pertaining to the holiday. The actual products are not available. But the main page that the product list is on can be in the search engines. This way, if they are looking for this type of item they will know where to come when the holiday approaches.

I also can also enforce inventory control and set stock to zero for anything that is not available. So it is impossible for somebody to order the item.
