I currently am using L4T and need to get rid of it and replace it with Zeus.

What do I need to do to accomplish this and will I be able to keep my existing link partners?

Thanx

I had the same problem with finding SMTP. If you get in touch with your ISP they can tell you what your SMTP is. I fought for 3 days with mine trying to figure it out. So contact your ISP provider and save your self the headache.
Also I read in another posting, if you drop L4T you loose your link trade partners with them as well. I am keeping mine until my year is up and then L4T is history. I found more links on my own than L4T got for me.

I moved the links that I had imported into L4T to an independent page on my site so when it goes I won't loose the links that I got myself. I hope this helps. :D

Can't I just contact all of the L4T partners I have now and manually ask for thier link?

Your contract with L4T states you cannot link to anyone you were linking with through them for a year after you leave their service.

Donna

Your ISP is your Internet Service Provider, who do you sign on with to get online?

I was in the process of attempting to upload the free version of zeus in my computer and it asked for my isp number. I did not know what that number was. Unfortuately, I closed the window and now I don't know how to get back into the program. All I get is an icon that says I can only have one application running at any one time. Can anyone help me bring this program back on the screen and tell me what numbers I need to input to get it initicated?

Thank you for being there and awake, Karen!
I have windows xp. Internet explorer. MSN hotmail. all these programs run automatically when I turn on my computer.
I have my DSL through my local phone company, Qwest.
Does that tell you what I need to know?

Donna

Check down on your tool bar and see if the zeus icon is still there. If not do the following:

Press and HOLD the ctrl, alt, and del button for about 1 sec. All three must be pressed together.

A screen should pop up and on the applications tab, it will show you the programs you have running. If zeus is still there hilite with your mouse, and then click the End Task Button on the bottom. Close that with the x in the upper right hand. Now look for the Zeus Icon on your desktop and restart Zeus.

Isn't there somewhere on "My Computer" or "My Network" that tells me this number?

Is this the same as my IP Address? I found an IP Address code in my "wireless network connection status " screen. It looks right.
Or do I need the default gateway code?

Ok Donna,

I assume you are trying to set it up to upload your link directory? Did you create the links folder? If NOT you will need to do this first.

Ftp://#sitenumber@storesonline.com
type that in your browser window. It should have a little box pop up and you need to make sure its the right site and then type in your password

You should see a folder called UPLOADED, and thats it. DONT click on it. Now go to the top, hit file, NEW, FOLDER, and it should appear next to your upload folder, right click on the text newfolder and rename it to links.

Now go to zeus, at the top TOOLS, OPTIONS, first tab is EMAIL, type in your name, YOUR EMAIL address, Donna@whateveryouuse.com
and then your SMTP server, should be something SIMPLE like

Mail.yourprovider.com

Usually thats all you need. Very few require a NUMBER. Now if you sign up with Cox Cable for example, or whatever, you need to use whatever MAIL SERVICE came with your package. If you arent sure, then do call them. Usually this needs to be your default mail address in this area.

The second tab under tools/options is Web Site, You type in your URL, Your LINKs URL, which should be, Http://www.yoursite.com/links/ThemeIndex.html

The third one is linkinfo, and right now this is pointing to a non existant page, but we can fix this one later, right now we just want to get you uploaded.

The next tab you need filled out is FTP

storesonline.com
Your store number
your password
/links

now you should hit apply to each of these windows as you do them. Now you should be ready to get it uploaded and we can tweak up its name etc after you get it there and published

Oh im only up cuz we just got done watching movies and I thought I would check mail etc to wind down a little. Hope this gets you fixed Donna.

Let us not assume anything.
I just uploaded the zeus trail program. I am not trying to upload it into a link directory yet; I want to look at the program first. I am just getting the trail installed onto my computer, not my site.

LOL, Ok so you DOWNLOADED zeus, not UPLOADED. I dont know why its asking you questions, and I cant remember it asking questions. If you are just starting then first thing you need to do is train it. Let me link you to this thread
