Hi Matt
Thanks v much for your fabulous step-by-step tutorial.
I nearly made it - I got to the point where I clicked on "Generate" and it said "Congratulations ..... etc. your page has been saved in the folder C:\My Documents\pages
I then went to the above folder via Windows Explorer - where I found a message waiting for me, informing me the folder is empty!
I tried this twice - with the same result!
help? :?

First, did you select links to be included in the pages and save them?
Is it at all possible that you are missing a part of the page they are being saved to? I really suggest that you MAKE a folder you want them to go to. For example, I have a Link Assistant folder with folders inside it for each of my stores. So when I generate pages, they go directly to the folder for whatever store I'm working on. Makes it much easier to find the folder you're saving to. :)
To do this, click on your Links Page tab, then click on Edit - and it will allow you to select anywhere you'd like to save the project to. Just make sure you have a file by the name you select. Then generate and see if you can find it easily and if it's there.

when you are on the code page in Link Assistant - there is a line of symbols - one symbol is "edit" - click on that and it will show you, where the html pages will be saved. From there you can change the destination too. Other than that - check what Beth said, on the "Partners" page - are the Link Partners, you wish to show on the page checked?
Hope it helps :-)

Thanks v much Beth & Matt.
Well, through a fair amount of persistance and your advice, I've managed to generate a links page with some links partners, and save it in a separate folder.
Now.... I opened the links page document in notepad (I'm guessing this is the right way to get the html?), copied all, and pasted it into a text element in my newly created links page in my store (checking the box that says "don't convert carriage returns") .... and.....
something peculiar happened.
When I preview the page, I get the message at the top about the links, which is fine, then there is a looooooooooong gap for the rest of the page - except for two search boxes out of place down at the bottom, and then the footer is waaaaay over on the right (you have to move the sliding bar at the bottom to get to it.
There are no links in sight.
Have I done it right? Should I just try again? Or was I supposed to get the code in a different way?
Thanks so much for all your help :)

First, Did you do a view source from notepad before you selected all and copied? If you just copied the page, it won't work! And the actual program is set up for you to upload the page via ftp - so you might have to make some code changes to do it as you did (which I do also).
