setting up links as elements

I have been told before not to worry about rating too much so I havent and have been focusing on link trading but I had a potential link partner write back and tell me because my links pages had no rating they would not trade with me. I just want to be sure I am adding my links correctly so in time they will be rated. When I add a link in SOL I just go to add element then add a link for example:


Chandler Creations (http://www.scrapbooksplusonline.com) Scrapbook Albums, Page kits ....



then that is all I do, am I suppose to add meta information, or key words or tags of any kind so the SE will find me? I don't mind waiting for them to find me but I just want to make sure I am doing it correctly so they will find me.

It will take some time for the links pages to be ranked. And many, many places with high ratings on home pages, don't have ratings on links pages, even tho they're accessible. Just write that one off and move on. You can't please everyone. You'll find, after you have ranking on the page, someone telling you they won't trade because your rank isn't high enough.

Just promise me you won't be holier than thou to newbies when you've been around awhile. We all have to start somewhere.

That said, I am picky about the sites I link to - mainly about professionalism and accessiblity of all pages including links pages - but I have never made a decision based on ranking.

OK thats all I needed to hear I wasnt so worried that I wasnt ranked yet but just that I setting up my links correctly. And I promise you I will not get to high and mighty. I have come from the very bottom and am working my way up, what really surprises me is that I am getting as many orders as I am when I am still under 100 hits a day, so you just never know. And without the help of you guys on this forum I would probably have given up by now!!!
