I realy like the template, but...the black cherry font in the navigation bar sucks. Being new and afraid, very afraid! I'm a bit scarded to try this, but I will do a back up before it try any suggestions. I would like to use Verdane, keeping the same color code, and only want the font of the navigation bar to be effected.

Thanks to everyone in addvance.

Hi Chistine, and Everyone,
I went to the posting, printed it, and was off to fix the eye sore. BUT...
the teplate's navigational html is hidden in internal images that have me lost. I spoke with EMS and SOL non-helpers. Of couse no help, but they did put the fear of the SOL Gletch Monster in me. I figure I have just enough knowledge to get me in trouble. Any other clues to the mystery?
Or should I just live with it?

Thanks again,
Cherrie :D

Cherrie, those navigation buttons are images, as you found out. You can't change them through changing the code. You can, however, import other button images and replace the image your template is calling for with another SOL internal image.

Here is a link to just one of SOL's internal button images. You can change the # 54 to other numbers and get other button codes. Some of them are non existent but most of them work. I've been up to around 200 on the days I have nothing else to do!

I found a couple that would work. I'm trying not to get sucked into random number searching. Alot come up with an internal error message. Did you work a better way to surf them? With them comming up one at a time, and my server is slow right now, I see this way as taking hours and hours.

Anyhow, now what do I do with the new found image?

Sorry, for being such a dolt. I truly appreciate your time here.

Thanks Again,
Cherrie

I just went through them by going up 5 at a time because I noticed that the numbers close together were similar.

If you find one you like, you can replace the one called for in navigation.html with that #. You don't have to replace the entire code, just the number.

The link is just to see if you can find one you like.

Famuos last words...should have went to bed, but it was to easy to let go a night. Silly me!! I did eveything right up until....
I down loaded into my header instaed of the navigation html. The header was cutomized by "the Programer", so I lost that code. Not hope though, 'cause I do have my home pages Html saved. I also have my live site. Lucky for me I didn't publish with out viewing. So now...I have turned this simple task into a grand learning experience.HELP!!!!
Before I make a bigger mess... is there a solution to this. I truly hope I'm the 1st to have suffered this, but has anyone else have this happen to them?

Burning the candle at both ends,
Cherrie

Yikes! You're not the first one. Ask Connie (Red Riding Hood Gift Baskets) about her experience late one night.

Here's your header code. Good thing you didn't pubish. You can always get it correctly off the live site.

And if you had published, you can also find the cached site from a search engine and get it from there. Speaking from experience.....

I have located the code from the live site, and have that saved to my desk top. Then went back to the store builder, and got scared again. Do I just delete the file I want to replace by using the delete key, or do I just copy over the top? Or is there sometihng else I should do?

Baffled and Bewildered, But rested,

Here's a sticky on how to do it. The file you want to download is navigation.html. I always save it to my desktop after making changes so I can easily find it.

1st and formost thank you for the support through my silly crisis. Many, many blessings on all you!! :D

I now am concerned with the template jargon in the code, from live site view sorce, and am afraid that I would be downloading into a bigger mess. Is the viewed sorce code from the live site compatable coding to downlaod into the customized page downlaod. My concern comes back to the temple refference, in that the code i need is being held there and won't be right without the progamer code that may have been written diffrently on the customized page. Or does the veiw sorce represent the html coding information verbatem?Rembering that I have had "part of the package" SOL programmer work done.

I am more than willing to fix this, just have a few doughts. Mostly in my understanding of this. Man, the great many things I get to learn , trial an error. I betcha I'll be a pretty good resorce for this problem. But hope noone else has to suffer it!!

Thank you, for your patients with this newbie!!

We are not talking about your live site. We are talking about Design Customization in the back end of your store. You can't change anything from the live site, just view the code.
